Arn Cummins started a bicycle repair business after his discharge from World War II. The business has grown and changed a lot over the years, but it has remained a family business. Now we are one of the largest Oudoor Power Equipment Dealers in Western Canada, selling and servicing Ariens, Billy Goat, Gravely, Kawasaki, Stihl and Walker Mowers. At Arn’s we are inspired by a single and common compelling mission: to “help you manage your outdoor spaces”.

OUR STORY

Our story dates back to the initial days of the company during the 1940′s. However, Arn’s Equipment continues to move forward and take on challenges that propel us into the future.

A Rich 60+ Year History….

1943 – Arn Cummins buys a property on 16th Avenue NW for $450.00
1946 – Arn is discharged from the Air Force in April and begins construction on the original building
1948 – Skate Swap began, the first of its kind in Calgary
1948 – Name Changed to Arn’s Bike Shop
1948 – Started selling Clemson push lawnmower and Whizzer motorcycles
1949 – Started selling gas powered rotary lawnmowers
1949 – Name changed to Arn’s Equipment and Sharpening Service
1962 – Became authorized Gravely Equipment dealer
1968 – Dave Jardine comes to work for Arn’s Equipment as a mechanic
1972 – Dave Jardine buys Arn’s Equipment
1979 – Opens location on Burnsland Road SE Calgary
1980 – Becomes Stihl authorized dealer
1982 – Arn’s moves to 1107 – 46 Ave SE Calgary
1993 – Walker Mower Distributor for Alberta and Eastern B.C.
2000 – Scott Jardine buys Arn’s from his Father
2005 – Major expansion doubles size of building
2005 – Arn’s named Ariens/Gravely’s Canadian dealer of the year
2006 – Takes over Walker Mower distribution for Western B.C
2006 – Arn’s Named Ariens/Gravely dealer of the year
2007 – Arn’s joins Ariens/Gravely Million Dollar Club
2008 – Appointed Billy Goat Distributor for Western Canada
2009 – Appointed Kawasaki Distributor for Western Canada
2010 – Arn’s receives Yard & Garden Dealers in Excellence Award
